Acupuncture is usually performed in a private room by a health care practitioner who usually charges anywhere from 60-120 dollars per visit.
The model of Community Acupuncture is different. The time and space is shared by many patients. In this way the cost is much less for the patient, making it more affordable and in alignment with acupuncture traditions across the globe. It is also in the spirit of Naturopathic Medicine to provide affordable natural care for everyone.
There is a powerful healing energy in this type of setting. The stillness that is required for acupuncture to work is a rare and precious thing in our on-the-go society and brings upon healing and wellness. The atmosphere is peaceful, relaxing and soothing. You need to be mindful of everyone in the room. This is important.
Treatments are done in reclining chairs that are space around the peaceful treatment room. You remain clothed during the treatment. The needles will be places predominantly on your arms, lower legs, head and ears, to patient’s comfort level. Soothing, relaxation music is provided too to enhance the treatment.
Many people enjoy this type of acupuncture. It also enables them to come in with a friend or family member if they like. Often people note the enhanced feeling of relaxation they experience from this kind of treatment. The combined energy of people coming together to relax and heal in the same shared space often lends the room a very powerful sensation.
A typical session usually lasts 30-45 minutes. We limit the space to maximum 3 people at the time.
